My Take On Three Sure Fire Home Workouts For Women

In my previous post I talked about total body workout routines.  I then started thinking about the best home workouts for women that are perfect for the summer time.  You can probably guess that I get a bit excited for the sun, hey it only comes out every so often here in Washington state.  I wanted to find three iron clad, sure fire workout routines for women that can be done in a small room and with or without any weights.  So keep reading to see my recommendations on home workouts without weights for women.

My Criteria For The Best Home Workouts For Women

I had to set some ground rules to rate my three options.  The rules were simple to determine the best home workouts for women.  They needed to require no weights, offer variety in each option, target toning and cardio, and be able to increase intensity of each option.  That was about it.  I stayed away from the exercises and routines that women generally steer away from, like power lifting for example.

Home Workouts For Women Option #1

Yoga.  Yoga is perfect for anyone looking to tone up, increase flexibility, reduce stress, etc.  I hated yoga at first to be honest.  Trying new yoga poses was hard to mentally deal with after focusing on intense bodyweight workouts for so long.  It is a great way to slow down and focus on breathing and reducing stress.  I ranked yoga #1 for home workouts for women because the benefits are far reaching.  You can get a cardio workout, strength training, and flexibility training all wrapped into one.  Yoga is the best option in my mind when it comes to home workouts for women that require no weights.  A program, like the  p90x2 workout, includes bodyweight exercises along with cardio, nutrition, as well as yoga.  I highly recommend it for people who work out at home versus the gym.

Home Workouts For Women Option #2

Bodyweight Exercises.  I could not leave these out.  They can be grouped in with option #1 but bodyweight exercises need their own grouping.  They can include ab workouts for women, standard squats, push ups, body rows, etc.  I firmly believe that all home workouts for women and all workouts in general need to have bodyweight exercises included in everyone’s fitness routines because they are highly effective and cost nothing!

Home Workouts For Women Option #3

Using an Elliptical.  I know that everyone does not own an elliptical, but the fact of the matter is you can get a great interval cardio workout in using one.  I bought my wife an elliptical over the holidays for pretty cheap and she loves it.  Doing a 30 minute session with 1 minute 100% intensity and 2 minutes moderate intensity does a great job at taxing your heart rate, burning calories, and toning up.  An elliptical is a great component for all workout routines for women at home or at the gym.

Home Workouts For Women Conclusion

Hopefully these three options will help any women out there enhance their fitness routine.  Working out in general takes effort we all know that.  But putting effort into a program or certain exercise routine that does not deliver results is not only frustrating, it is depressing.  No matter what exercise regimen you primarily focus on, know that each time you show up to workout you are activating disease fighting genes that may not be activated unless you exercise.  Hopefully these three options for home workouts for women provide a fitness boost for you.
